SlashGear Lenovo ThinkCentre M90z Giveaway WINNER ANNOUNCED
Posted by MobiG @ 12:13 am

If you’ll remember back a while we reviewed Lenovo’s ThinkCentre M90z, then we had a giveaway, one where entrants were asked to suggest excellent non-profit groups that might benefit from a pack of 5 ThinkCentre M90zs (three sets of which will end up going to non-profits at a later date.) From the entries we received, we’ve chosen (at random) one big winner to receive an M90z of their own! Take a peek below to see if it’s you!

Entries were accepted until midnight PST on December 13th, 2010, and now we’ve got our winner. Are you excited?

AMY BREWER! COME ON DOWN!

Amy Brewer ended up suggesting St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. If you take a look back at the original contest post you’ll see that this hospital was suggested more than a couple times, that perhaps maybe giving it a better chance at getting one of the packages of 5 ThinkCentres. All of the other non-profit organizations are going to Lenovo where they’ll be thought over and decided on, the top groups to be chosen at the beginning of 2011.

If you’ve not won here (aka everyone but Amy,) feel free to take a look at this list of other sites where you’ll be able to enter again! Win win win! Then take a look again at the full rules below that. Seeya next contest [oh wait, we've got another one going on right now, win a Google Chrome OS Cr-90 laptop on Android Community or on SlashGear]

Participating sites also giving away the Lenovo ThinkCentre M90z:

Rules:

Competition is open to residents of the US and Canada over the age of 18.  Family members of Lenovo and SlashGear are not permitted to enter. Competition entries are only accepted via the specified SlashGear post; entries left in the comments section of any other post will not be recognized. Entries should be submitted before midnight pacific time on December 13th 2010; one entry per person (and yes, we check).

The winners will be announced on SlashGear and contacted via email; they will be expected to respond within 24 hours else their prize may be forfeit and another winner selected. Editors decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Winner agrees that their name and details of their entry may be used for promotional purposes by, but not limited to, Lenovo and SlashGear.

Prize consists of one Lenovo ThinkCentre M90z PC. There is no cash alternative. Should this prize become unavailable, SlashGear and Lenovo reserve the right to substitute another prize of equal or greater value. If you have already won one of the Lenovo M90z giveaways on another site, you are not eligible to win again on SlashGear. The winner of SlashGear’s giveaway will not be eligible to win a giveaway on another site with a contest closing after ours.

SlashGear Google Cr-48 Giveaway REMINDER
Posted by MobiG @ 5:54 am

Everyone in the USA! Remember that we’re running an amazing contest where you will be able to win a Google Cr-48 notebook running none other than Google Chrome OS, a super combo only otherwise available in the middle of next year (or through Google’s pilot program, of course, but you want one for your own!) We’ve got a total of five notebooks to give away, three here on SlashGear, two more over at Android Community. The first drawing will be TOMORROW, December 16 at midnight PST!

Get entering as fast as you can!

We’ll draw the first SlashGear winner at random on Thursday December 16 2010 at midnight PST, the second on Friday December 17 at midnight PST, and the third on Sunday December 19 at midnight PST. SlashGear Google Cr-48 Giveaway
Posted by MobiG @ 9:33 pm

Notebooks running Google Chrome OS aren’t expected to hit the market until mid-2011, so until now the only way to get your hands on a Google laptop is to sign up to the search giant’s pilot program and hope you get picked to try out one of the 12.1-inch ultraportables. Now, though, there’s another way: Google has given us five Cr-48 notebooks to give away, three for SlashGear readers and two over at our sibling site Android Community.

To take part, all you have to do is sign up as a fan of the SlashGear Facebook page, and share the link to this competition on your Facebook wall with a post saying why you want a Cr-48 notebook. Remember, Google is pushing their cloud apps in a big way with Chrome OS, and the Cr-48 is all about cutting ties and going mobile.

We’ll draw the first SlashGear winner at random on Thursday December 16 2010 at midnight PST, the second on Friday December 17 at midnight PST, and the third on Sunday December 19 at midnight PST. Unfortunately, due to the terms of Google’s pilot scheme, only US entrants can be accepted. Good luck!

Rules:

Competition is open to residents of the US over the age of 18. Family members of Google and SlashGear/Android Community are not permitted to enter. Editors decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. Winner agrees that their name and details of their entry may be used for promotional purposes by, but not limited to, Google and SlashGear.

SlashGear Lenovo ThinkCentre M90z Giveaway
Posted by MobiG @ 8:06 pm

Earlier this year we reviewed Lenovo’s ThinkCentre M90z touchscreen all-in-one PC; now we’re giving you the chance to win one of your own. The 23-inch Full HD desktop supports all of Windows 7′s native multitouch support and would be equally comfortable as a browsing, media or home-office machine; check out how you can win the M90z after the cut, as well as helping a non-profits to win a bumper crop of five M90z’s apiece!

Lenovo has asked for our help – and for the help of the SlashGear readers – to identify non-profit agencies in the US and Canada whom we believe could make good use of the M90z’s abilities. The company has put together three M90z packages, each consisting of five of the ThinkCentres, and are looking for suggestions as to what organization would be worthwhile.

Taking part is very simple: all you need to do is leave a comment on this post telling us which non-profit you think worthy of an M90z package. By making a suggestion, you’ll be entered into the SlashGear giveaway to win a ThinkCentre M90z of your own.

Now, the non-profit should be a worthy medical or educational institution, such as a clinic, hospital, school, community center, adult education facility, or similar, and – like entrants in the giveaway itself – it has to be located in the US or Canada.

Entries will be accepted up until midnight pacific time on December 13 2010, at which point we’ll pick one winner at random to take home an M90z, and put forward your best suggestions as to non-profit groups to Lenovo, where they’ll be considered alongside the ideas from the other sites taking part (there’s a list of them below).

Make sure to read all the rules below, and good luck!

SlashGear Pad and Quill iPad Case Giveaway Winner Announced!
Posted by MobiG @ 10:04 pm

In the best case scenario, when a giveaway happens, we would love more than anything to be able to pick a winner fairly and easily, but when we have the amount of participation we did for something like the Pad&Quill case for the iPad, it’s hard. And, it takes time. Luckily though, we were able to find one lucky winner that managed to follow the rules, and catch our attention with their review for the SlashGear app for iOS. That winner? Well, he just so happens to go by the name of ImperfectLink.

ImperfectLink will be taking home the grand prize: one Pad&Quil iPad case. The case is what some would call high-end, and it happens to be one of our favorites for Apple’s tablet device. So, ImperfectLink stay tuned for instructions from us on how to get your special prize, and we certainly hope you enjoy it. And stay tuned for more SlashGear giveaways, as we’ll have plenty more in the future. And, you never know — you could be the next winner!

Congratulations ImperfectLink!
