There’d been some drama not long ago on news that Vodafone was scrubbing its exclusive launch of Sony Ericsson’s troubled Xperia X2, but it turns out they still wanted a crack at the thing after all — just not in the UK, apparently, where it had originally been listed as “coming soon.” Instead, it’s Voda’s Spanish outpost that’s taking a crack at the phone, which features WinMo 6.5 (you might recall that this thing was announced way back around the time of 6.5′s release) alongside a WVGA AMOLED display, 8.1 megapixel camera, and full QWERTY keyboard — not bad on paper. Of course, at the €700 ($957) they’re charging sans contract, you’re probably going to want to sign your name on the dotted line if you plan on picking it up.

Samsung’s curvy, slidy, shiney and soon to be available in pink S5550 — which we saw back in November in the FCC’s superwarehouse of joy — has hit retail shops in Spain, but mum’s still the word from Samsung. Phonehouse’s catalog is fairly slim on the details but we know it features a 5 megapixel cam with LED flash, looks to be metallic (at least the back), has a 2.2-inch AMOLED display, and looks to have a forward-facing camera. The other bullet point in the ad expounds its social networking features, which are pretty evident from the pic above. Interestingly the FCC’s report shows this set at least has 850 and 1900MHz radios on board, which would make it an honest-to-goodness world phone. We can’t seem to find a price anywhere, but we’re sure if you’re in Spain and drop them a line they’ll be more that willing to help you out.
